The third day of my stay here in the town of Oatley (25 min outside of Sydney) Pieter and I hit the road. Christian had left the day before so it was just us two. It's kinda ridiculous how much we connect. He's 55 and I'm 25 but age has never meant anything to me. It's amazing to me how I can just spontaneously fly to Sydney and yet it doesn't matter where I'm at, or what culture it is, I'm always gonna connect with certain people on a very high level. Pieter is that kind of dude. We were on our way to the beach and we saw a sign to some lookout spot, which he had never been to, and walking up to this spot I'm pretty sure I peed my pants.
Up up up the stairs we go. I apologize for the dust particles on my camera lens. It's so annoying. I just want some quality pics! I think I'll have to find a camera shop or somethin because I can't seem to figure it out.
Everything about this day was mind blowing. And this is how it started.
Had to capture this randy jackson throwing some paper airplanes off the massive cliff.
Beach time. My favorite. Out of all the locations I could live by it'd be by the beach. No doubt. After a quick dip in the ocean we headed out for a lil stroll through the mountains outside of Wollongong. I'm loving all the Aboriginal city and street names.
My only thought here is, why aren't these in every park in America?
Next up we spontaneously went to the Illawarra Fly Treetop Walk. We checked out when the next time we could start the walk and we were originally planning on going to a Jazz gig that Dave was helping put together in a different town but it was such a nice day we had to take advantage of the weather and just go for it. It was a total of 75 AU but easily worth it.
Here we go.
Ehhhh look at that Auzzie bloke!

Wowzers. I think I wet my pants here for the 7th time of the day.
Lake Illawara up ahead.
After the treetop adventures, we.... well went on more adventures of course. We stopped at a nature reserve lookout spot and it was so peaceful.
Strolled through an old school town where Pieter used to play with his band. This was one of his spots back in the day, and he showed me the room where it all went down. Ordered a nice local cider and enjoyed the view outback (he he).
Yummyness
And then after all that epicness, we come home to this. I love this place, and I hope everyone reading this can make it out to Planet Straya' someday because it's incredible. I could be in this part of the world for a very long time.
Beautiful place. Great pictures. The ocean views are especially gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteWow! These pics could all be postcards. Beautiful!
