Petralia

Unspeakable view near the top of Petralia.

This day we drove through the twists and turns of central Sicily to the town of Petralia located on the slopes of the Madonie mountains, for another epic festival. The small towns here are unlike anything I've seen. It feels as if some sort of magic is pulsating through the town. The roads are narrow and still made up of stones. Buildings are ancient. Modernization almost non existent. People live close together, united in spirit and simplicity. Sometimes I feel like I've been transported to life a hundred years ago or more. A small glimpse around the bend of time.

It's been the norm in Sicily to see Cathedrals hundreds of years old. The ancient-ness of everything is such a cool atmosphere to be in.

Teresa, Benedata, & Stella. I love these kids so much. So simple and free.

Photo cred goes to Benedata.
